TASKING TOOLS NOW AVAILABLE ON LINUX

Dedham, Mass. — September 27 1999 — TASKING Inc. announced today that many of its popular embedded software development toolsets are now available for Linux. All of the current versions of its 8051, XA, C166, ST10, M16C, and TriCore tools may now be ordered on Linux.

"Demand for our tools on Linux has been increasing steadily over the last few months", said Scott Taitel, President of TASKING Inc. "It's a natural extension of our existing Unix support. All the benefits our tools provide on MS Windows such as compiler optimizations, target specific compiler extensions and kernel aware debugging, will be available on Linux". "With the depth of Unix and Windows programming expertise at TASKING, we are in a unique position to continue to provide quality Linux products for the embedded market place", Taitel added.

The 1999 World Market Report for Embedded Operating Systems and Software Development Tools published by VDC reported that the number of customers expected to adopt Linux as a host development would increase by 150% over the next two years.

Pricing and Availability
Pricing for tools running on a single PC using Linux will be the same as for tools running on the MS Windows operating system. All toolsets include C compiler assembler and CrossView Pro debugger. TASKING is currently accepting orders for all of its compiler, assembler and debugger products on Linux.
