To make this process even more effective, Altium has opened to door to our developers’ laboratory with a new addition in Altium Designer – direct access via the Altium Labs. The Altium Labs feature lets you have a sneak peek at new features in development, and gives you the opportunity to try out those features before they are officially released.
With this practical view of features that are on the horizon, you have the opportunity to directly influence the way they are being developed by providing feedback to the boffins in the labs. This potentially makes a great new feature even better, and allows your valuable input to become part of the final release.

The Altium Labs can be accessed via the Altium homepage within Altium Designer. It now features a dedicated Altium Labs access pane, which lists all the development features that are currently available via the labs portal. To activate a feature in your installation of Altium Designer, simply enable the checkbox next to that feature within the list. All the commands, dialogs and controls associated with that feature will then be ‘live’ in your installation, and ready to use.
Because the Altium Labs feature is available via Altium Designer’s home page, you will need to be signed in to your Altium account (through the Altium Portal) before you can activate or deactivate an Altium Labs feature.
