So much more than just a nice box

Altium's new NanoBoard 3000 modular enclosure kit

We think a theme that resounds through Altium's technology is design for purpose. As we continually expand and improve Altium’s electronics design system and its connected environment, each new feature and capability has deeper implications than the technology itself might represent. What it means is invariably much more than what it is.

And just as the new NanoBoard 3000 means much more than just the availability of a hardware development board, the introduction of the new NanoBoard 3000 modular enclosures has a deeper significance. It might appear as just an alternative way to house the NanoBoard 3000, but its application opens up a new range of ways to benefit form Altium’s design environment.

Packaged as a comprehensive kit, the new modular deployment system for the NanoBoard 3000 provides everything you need to take your designs to the next level. The stylish and robust enclosures provide an easy, professional way to house the NanoBoard 3000 for creating tangible ‘proof of concept’ implementations, or even for deploying a design directly to the end customer.

Using the NanoBoard 3000 development system, FPGA-based designs can be explored, developed, debugged and deployed all using the one connected design environment. With this approach to rapid prototyping and deployment, the NanoBoard 3000 itself can be deployed in the field with minimum (if any) custom electronics and board design. The new modular enclosure kit makes this a practical and easy proposition, eliminating the need (if you so choose) to go through a full manufacturing cycle.

Ready for deployment

The NanoBoard 3000 modular enclosure kit has been developed to include everything you need to create a variety of product configurations. A comprehensive range of component part options allow the enclosures to be assembled so they can be stacked horizontally, wall mounted, or even bridged together to form multi-board systems.

The enclosures are easy to assemble and include cut-outs for the NanoBoard’s color LCD touch screen, plus an associated tact switch (mini pushbutton) module. When installed, an integrated user control interface is then available, while the full range of NanoBoard ports are exposed and accessible via a screen printed panel. And if your application requires the NanoBoard speakers, the enclosures have been designed so that the speaker sub-assembly can easily be remounted inside.

All the resources you need to make full use of the NanoBoard 3000 modular enclosures are available online from Altium. The design collateral necessary to develop and deploy custom hardware can be downloaded, including PCB profiles, connector panel profiles, decal templates and wall mounting template.

The new NanoBoard 3000 enclosure kit allows you to realize your designs quickly and vividly, and easily deploy the results as a proof of concept device or in the field as the final product. Designed from the ground up as a complete and purposeful solution for rapid, practical design deployment, it represents much more than just a stylish, tough enclosure for the NanoBoard 3000.
