  • Field Application Engineer - Eastern Region

    We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, Field Application Engineer with a focus on FPGA/Embedded design. Responsible for providing technical assistance to Corporate Account Managers, Account Managers, Resellers and Application Engineers in your region. The expectation is the delivery of revenue targets and the implementation of Altium’s business objectives. Open to candidates in the East Coast or Central regions.

    Primary responsibilities:

    • Provide technical support in sales presentations, product demonstrations, trade shows and seminars.
    • Establish and manage technical relationships with customers, partners and industry leaders.
    • Serve as the lead for RFP’s and customer proposals.
    • Reduce sales cycle by helping Sales Reps to drive the sales process with strategic accounts.
    • Expand regions pipeline within targeted accounts.
    • Provide second level support for new FAE’s and AE’s as needed.
    • Serve as an FPGA/Embedded design technical expert for strategic accounts, reseller training, and corporate initiatives.
    • Work with management to ensure the efficient collection and analysis of customer information and market data while ensuring effective communication of the requested information to management.
    • Participate in strategic and tactical planning as related to the region, and the driving and closing of business.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum 5 years experience in Presales function.
    • A solid understanding of electronic design software.
    • Proficient in FPGA/CPLD and embedded software design.
    • System design experience.
    • Extensive customer contact; willingness and ability to travel required.
    • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the desire to work in a fast paced environment, and passion and enthusiasm about Altium’s products.

  • Technical Support Manager - Carlsbad, CA

    We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and professional Technical Support Manager, to join our dynamic and forward-thinking US team. This role is responsible for the delivery of world class service to customers, prospective customers and to sales and support teams, by providing leadership to the US support team in a pre-sales capacity.

    • Management of the support team - driving broad adoption of FPGA, embedded, system competencies within our support organization - by providing strong leadership through this key transition
    • Create and sustain a local center of excellence in terms of Altium Designer engineering implementation, producing best practice metrics, reference designs and vertical collateral that would be high leverage locally from a technical sales engagement perspective
    • Translate company vision and team’s mission statements into workable goals for the team as a whole, and individual team members.
    • Proven ability to drive strategy change and re-prioritize resources to ensure higher business leverage.
    • Drive enhanced customer beta and regional forum input - additionally developing joint white papers, joint customer success story implementation collateral, credible regional technical thought leadership locally that are non PR based articles
    • Motivate, mentor, coach and develop the culture within the team by driving individual performance, providing regular feedback on an informal basis and through the Career & Performance Management process.
    • Develop and implement action plans (from internal and external feedback) for driving improvements in the support process.
    • Be a black belt from a technical systems viewpoint when engaged on key industry alliance engagements - including project management of these technical engagements
    • Create a competence to locally produce custom scripting capabilities to facilitate key enterprise engagements and project manage customer deliverable's
    • Provide continual review of systems used to analyze, measure and improve effectiveness of Altium’s support resources; driving changes where necessary
    • Maintain effective staffing levels necessary to achieve assigned goals and objectives by recruiting, selecting and training all new team members.
    • Be a credible technical market interface back into R&D and Corporate Marketing - acting as a key technical influencer able to provide credible customer/ market technical feedback.
    • Orchestrate much of the tactical seminar program focus across the Americas


    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • BSEE/ Computer Science or equivalent. Experience in PCB and FPGA a must.
    • Minimum 5 years experience in the technical capacity of electronics design/software industry in various capacities, Technical Marketing, Systems Engineering or Project Management.
    • Minimum 3 years experience leading and developing teams, including coaching and developing staff.
    • Understanding of electronic design industry including design process, product development and software support.
    • Experience supporting a sales organization in presales, post sales or technical marketing activities a must.
    • Exposure to working with senior management at a strategic level
    • Ability to exhibit strong influencing and driving skills at all levels.
    • Ability to build and manage relationships, both internal and external
    • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt to changing needs
    • Ability to be proactive and foresee the needs and expectations of electronic designers
