Altium Designer named electronics design software for competition
March 23, 2010, Beijing – Altium has announced that it will provide Altium Designer software and training for the 2010 National Electronics Talent Competition. The strategic partnership between Altium and the Talent Exchange Center of the Ministry of Industry & Information Technology aims to provide the most advanced technologies and the best design platform to cultivate and support innovation in the electronics industry.

Currently, more than 900 universities around the world, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Toronto, use Altium’s electronics design solutions. In China, Altium has cooperated with a number of key Chinese universities including Tsinghua University, South China University of Technology and the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, since the initiation of its Altium Academic Program in 2008. Altium provides these universities with product and training as specially negotiated packages, has established joint labs, and launched the Altium Designer Skill Certification Center for vocational education institutions.
The National Electronics Talent Competition is a technical contest sponsored by the Talent Exchange Center of the Ministry of Industry & Information Technology among college students across China. This is its second year in 2010. The competition promotes innovation among college students to encourage them to put theory and knowledge into practice, to improve students‟ skills for the job market, to encourage them to actively take part in extracurricular technical activities, and to create premium conditions for outstanding talent. As a partner of the competition, Altium will sponsor 100 sets of Altium Designer as the designated design automation tool. In addition, Altium will also provide training and tutoring for all competitors throughout the event.
