Introduction

In this video series, we will be going through a common design workflow while showing the new features and approach introduced in Altium Designer 18. These enhancements were designed and introduced to improve users’ design efficiency using Altium Designer 18. In this first module, we will start things off by showing the GUI improvements which are made to be consistent throughout the various editors of Altium Designer 18.

Design Environment - Schematic

In this module, we will see how we can define the document options in the schematics, place and download components from the Content Vault while making use of the new interactive properties panel throughout the process.

Design Environment - PCB

In this module, we will be defining the board options, interactively route with the assist of the enhanced ActiveRoute while making use of the new interactive properties panel and View Configuration panels throughout the process.

Output Environment - ActiveBOM

In this module, we will see how the enhanced ActiveBOM document in Altium Designer 18 will facilitate transition of supply chain information from designers to the procurement team.

Output Environment - Draftsman

In this last module of this video series, we will see the improvements of Draftsman document in Altium Designer 18 to facilitate creation of fabrication and assembly drawings for board design production.

Appendix: Multi-Board Project

This is an additional module which briefly discuss on multi-board project definition which is introduced in Altium Designer 18.
