Altium Designer 23 goes beyond PCB design with new capabilities for electronics product design. These enhancements include multi-board design, new harness design, and more advanced simulation capabilities. Additionally, Altium Designer 23 features continuous improvements in PCB component and design data management, supply chain management, and teamwork and collaboration through the Altium 365 platform.

Released Altium Designer 22 with new features to select available parts, reduce manual design tasks, share design files across extended teams, and collaborate with manufacturers from within the Altium 365 workspace.

TASKING is sold for $110M to FSN Capital. Altium divests this embedded software (compiler) business unit to concentrate focus on accelerating the adoption of its cloud platform Altium 365 for dominance and industry transformation.

Altium initiates its Netflix Moment reorganization, separating CAD software from the Cloud business and bifurcating sales organization into high-volume digital and high-touch value sales teams. CAD business drives dominance and Cloud business drives transformation.

Altium acquires Gumstix, a manufacturer of computing hardware applications for embedded devices and systems. Its unique browser-based, modular design environment enables customers to design and order production boards in a matter of minutes with no engineering required.

Altium acquires Brooklyn-based PCB:NG, an online turnkey PCB assembler with a technology to provide instantaneous DFM for low-volume/high-mix orders. Bringing a PCBA in-house furthers Altium’s ability to connect the design space to the manufacturing floor.

Altium launches NEXUS 1.0, a team-based, cloud-enabled PCB design solution. This design platform tool includes design collaboration, managed data (library and design), and process automation and workflow controls.

Altium acquires Upverter, a cloud-based, collaborative hardware design tool with a 45,000-user base and an intuitive user experience for engineers, makers, hobbyists and students who are not professional, trained electrical engineers.

Altium partners with Dassault Systèmes SOLIDWORKS to deliver SolidWorks PCB, a specialized version of Altium’s PCB design software specialized for SolidWorks users and ECAD/MCAD integration.

Altium acquires two companies - Octopart, the #1 electronic parts search engine in the world, and Ciiva, a cloud-based electronics parts management.

Aram Mirkazemi

Aram Mirkazemi is appointed Chief Executive Officer, Altium moves its headquarters to California, USA, and the company successfully raises $44M of capital on ASX.

Altium launches Altium Designer 6, the world’s first Native 3D PCB design software.

Altium successfully completes an IPO and becomes a publicly- listed company on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).
