Chief Executive Officer
Aram Mirkazemi was appointed Chief Executive Officer in January 2014 and is an Executive Director of the Altium Board. Aram is passionate about software development and has been at the forefront of CAD software development and web-based technology for over 20 years, at both executive and senior management level.
A driving force at Altium since the early 1990s, Aram was Director of Research and Development from 1992-1999, and a member of the Altium Board from 1992-2000. Following a successful IPO in 1999, Aram left to explore his interest in web-based software systems and went on to found Morfik Technology. He returned to Altium in 2010 as part of the Morfik acquisition and was appointed as Head of Engineering, followed closely by his role as Chief Technology Officer.
As CEO, Aram is leading the company’s transformation to a world class PCB tool provider which not only dominates the mainstream PCB market, but is also expanding its reach into the low-end and higher-end PCB market segments.
Aram holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Tasmania.
Chief Product and Operations Officer
Henry joined Altium in April 2015 as Senior VP Enterprise Solutions. As a highly respected leader within the EDA industry and with a wealth of experience in high-quality PCB design solutions, Henry is pursuing his passion at Altium to deliver the next generation design solutions for Enterprise customers. In August 2015, Henry was promoted to the role of Chief Product and Operations Officer. Henry overseas all aspects of Altium’s multi-product, multi-channel strategy. This includes overseeing the development of Altium’s product architecture to sales and go-to-market strategy.
Prior to joining Altium, Henry spent 16 years as the Head of the PCB Division at Mentor Graphics. Prior to joining Mentor in 1999, Henry served in a variety of positions in the IC and Systems development industry, including Senior Vice President at Hitachi Semiconductor and Managing Director of Advanced Processor Lab at Motorola. Henry has managed the creation of CAD solutions as well as using these solutions at Schlumberger, TI, VLSI Technology, Motorola and Hitachi. Additionally, he has extensive M&A experience in addition to holding patents in the software, systems and semiconductor areas.
Henry holds a Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering from the University of Louisiana.
Joe was appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in March 2016. Prior to joining Altium, Joe served as CFO of Lattice Semiconductor, a NASDAQ listed company, in addition to holding senior executive financial leadership roles at Intel Corporation.
Joe has extensive knowledge and experience in technology companies, with particular expertise in financial management, M&A, post-acquisition integration, strategic planning, and global operations.
As CFO, Joe is a key member of the Altium leadership team and is at the forefront of business strategy execution - to deliver PCB market leadership by 2020. Joe is responsible for the management of Altium financial asset and resource optimization, and supporting the growth of the company while continuing to improve financial performance.
VP Investor Relations & Corporate Affairs
Kim was appointed VP Investor Relations & Corporate Affairs in February 2015. Prior to joining Altium in 2012, Kim held senior roles within the Treasury Department for the State of Tasmania, specializing in the analysis of economic and financial matters and the development of public policy platforms. During her time with the Treasury from 2003 to 2009, Ms Besharati was appointed as the Treasurer’s nominee to the role of Board Director of the Tasmanian Government Superannuation Fund and served as a member of that Fund’s Investment Committee. In the early 2000s, Ms Besharati held the role of Research Manager at Macquarie Bank.
Since joining Altium in 2012, Kim has been a key member of the Altium Corporate Team, working closely with the Altium Board, and at the forefront of the development of the company’s corporate strategy.
Kim is responsible for the strategic management of the relationship between Altium and the financial community.
Kim holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Tasmania.
Sergey Kostinsky was appointed to the role of VP Engineering in May 2014. Sergey has 20 years of extensive experience at a senior management level in CAD software development and web-based technology. Prior to his current role as VP Engineering, upon rejoining Altium in 2010 as part of the Morfik Technology acquisition, Sergey served as Director, Product Development. Sergey was also one of the founding members of the Dream Company, a Ukraine component development company which was acquired by Altium in 2001. He is outstanding in creating, directing and managing complex software engineering projects and products, and has been the driving force behind Altium R&D.
He is responsible for driving optimal performance in all aspects of our engineering efforts and leads a global team of high calibre engineers.
Sergey holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the National Technical University of Ukraine.
VP Sales Americas
Chris Donato was appointed VP Sales Americas in February 2014, after being at the forefront of the Altium USA sales efforts for 10 years. Most recently, Chris has served as Director Strategic Sales and has been the main driver in building our strategic sales team in the USA.
Chris has over a decade of sales leadership experience in managing sales channels and technological product sales in various industries. Chris is responsible for all sales in the Americas region, including strategic sales, direct sales, renewals and channel sales. He brings both high-energy and disciplined focus to the US sales organisation, reflecting his one-time military background and highly competitive nature.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Communication from Bridgewater University.
VP Sales, EMEA
Rainer Asfalg joined Altium in January 2016 as VP Sales, EMEA. Rainer has 30 years of experience in the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) industry ranging from Application Engineering for the entire PCB flow to sales and product development. Prior to joining Altium, Rainer held a number of senior management positions at Mentor Graphics. Earlier in his career, Rainer was managing the European pre-sales application team at Zuken.
Rainer is responsible for all sales in the EMEA region, including direct sales, renewals and channel sales. Rainer brings deep EDA knowledge and disciplined execution to the EMEA sales organization.
VP Global Customer Success
Matt Schwaiger was appointed VP Global Customer Success in August 2014. With 25 years of experience at Altium at the forefront of product management, support and sales Matt has a deep understanding of Altium's customers, our products and the EDA industry.
Matt is responsible for customer experience across all aspects of Altium's business. He ensures that customer value is a fundamental part of Altium's culture and at the heart of all that Altium does.
Matt is responsible for supporting our subscription business and is supporting the delivery of outstanding technical support that meets the needs of our customers.
Martin Ive was appointed VP Finance in November 2014, having been at the forefront of Altium’s global finance function for over 10 years. Most recently, Martin has served as Altium’s Director of Finance and overseen Altium’s compliance and statutory requirements, while providing valuable business support to the company’s global sales teams.
Martin is responsible for leading the development of Altium’s business intelligence capabilities that will provide insights and information to generate and guide operational and strategic decisions.
Martin is a highly experienced finance professional and chartered accountant. Prior to joining Altium, Martin held a management position at Grant Thornton. Martin is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, holds a BA Hons (Accounting) from Portsmouth University, UK and an MBA from Macquarie Graduate School of Management in Australia.
