Altium Designer's Situs™ Topological Autorouter™

Altium's second-generation Situs Autorouter brings the latest in autorouting technology to the P-CAD 2006 desktop. The autorouter's topological path mapping gives designers the power to deal with difficult design geometries and complex routing problems such as high-density BGA devices and connections to split plane layers – without the need for extensive post-route cleanup work.

Unlike traditional shape-based routers, Situs Topological Autorouter has the ability to natively find routing paths in nonorthogonal directions, allowing the intelligent assignment of connections to layers. Situs gives superior completion rates, and offers support for plane layers and split planes, plus support for neck down on pad entries.

Altium Designer's CAMtastic™

CAMtastic bridges the gap between PCB design and manufacturing, allowing both board designers and fabrication engineers to quickly and easily verify critical manufacturing information.

CAMtastic includes all the graphical and geometrical tools you need to edit/modify any design, as well as extensive fabrication and assembly tools to allow you to load and translate between all commonly-used CAM formats. Advanced features such as bidirectional ODB++ support and multi-step panelization ease the process of taking design data from layout through to fabrication.

Altium Designer's mixed-signal circuit simulation

With true mixed-mode simulation, P-CAD 2006 makes powerful, integrated simulation a reality. P-CAD 2006's circuit simulator supports both standard SPICE 3f5 / XSpice and PSpice® models, allowing you to accurately simulate any combination of analog and digital devices, without manually inserting D/A or A/D converters. This mixed-signal simulation is possible because the simulator includes accurate, event-driven behavioral models for its digital devices, including TTL and CMOS digital devices.

The circuit simulator includes the standard analyses – operating point, transient and ac small signal – as well as a number of advanced analyses including DC sweep, temperature sweep, parameter sweep, noise, pole zero and Monte Carlo component tolerance sweeping.
