The NEXUS design collaboration panel leverages social interaction between designers to keep team members in sync. Schematic, Layout, MCAD, and PCB multi-board interactions between team members are done using the collaboration panel, and recorded as part of the design history. This not only improves collaboration but also provides a record of why, when, and by whom design decisions were made.
NEXUS Process Manager provides a set of pre-defined templates for common workflows including Project Initiation, Part Request, and Design Review. These processes can be used as-is, or easily modified to fit your unique workflow using the visual process editor. New workflows can also be built from scratch with an easy to use "drag & drop" approach.
NEXUS includes a configurable component library with standard content. Easily add or import your own components, footprints, symbols, and models to build common libraries that can be shared across a workgroup, team, or entire company with user and role based access control.
NEXUS strikes the perfect balance of creativity and control for organizations and projects involving multiple people. A configurable design release process is built into NEXUS, assuring appropriate reviews, approvals, and design checks are completed before PCB designs are released to the rest of the organization.
NEXUS and Altium Designer designs are 100% compatible, so they can be shared with both internal and external collaborators with complete confidence. And, NEXUS has a "Vault Compatibility Mode" that allows your existing Altium Vault server to work seamlessly with the NEXUS client.
NEXUS contains connectors to SOLIDWORKS® , PTC Creo® Parametric™, Autodesk Inventor®, and Autodesk Fusion 360®. Combined with Altium's industry-leading NATIVE 3D design technology, collaboration with MCAD designers is simple and seamless. This allows mechanical and electronics designers to work collaboratively to ensure electronic function is harmonized with mechanical fit, reducing redesign work caused by "over the wall" work processes.
NEXUS can publish design content to Arena PLM and PTC Windchill, connecting into enterprise workflows involving non-engineering personnel and easily fitting into your product development infrastructure.
NEXUS' web-based markup and commenting capability provides lightweight capability for everyone in the team to provide insights and ask questions about design intent and details. No download or installation required, and no need to learn a PCB tool - this capability works within any web-browser.
NEXUS server-side capabilities for data management, process management, and collaboration is securely hosted in the cloud, simplifying installation and setup and reducing the cost of maintaining your PCB design system. The PCB design capabilities are provided within a more traditional desktop client that connects to NEXUS cloud services, optimizing responsiveness of the application in the graphics and I/O intensive PCB design environment.
