    Next generation electronics design unveiled

Altium kicks off European seminar series in February

SYDNEY, Australia – January 15, 2009 – Altium is launching a European seminar series starting February 3, 2009.

The series will focus on the latest release of Altium’s next generation electronics design solution, which extends Altium Designer’s real-time 3D PCB features with faster realtime 3D design performance. Enhancements to the visualization engine have also improved the memory and speed of the 3D graphics system - by up to seven times. Designers can also experience better performance in 2D drawing, by up three times; 2D transparency, over 11 times faster; highlighting and masking, over nine times faster; and 3D rotation, up to five times faster.

Altium has also introduced new technologies in Altium Designer to let designers explore future techniques and design possibilities, and harness the potential of programmable devices. A new Field Instrumentation dashboard will help designers overcome some of the challenges of testing or remotely monitoring designs inside FPGAs.

Each seminar will introduce these new technologies in practical workshops covering topics such as MCAD-ECAD co-design and PCB and FPGA design. Designers already conversant with FPGAs will gain insights into new design techniques, and newcomers to FPGAs will gain an understanding of how to tap their potential.

Seminars are open to engineering managers, VPs of engineers, design engineers, electronic product engineers, electronic product development engineers and software engineers.
