Is it possible to access the Altium 365 git repository through a command line without opening Altium?
If the VCS location of a managed project is known, then it is possible. Access to Altium Designer is required, where in the Explorer panel, a managed project under version control will display the VCS location, such as the following image as an example:
- The VCS location of a managed project can also be found within the project folder stored on a local PC. Open the .git folder which is located inside the project folder. Inside the .git folder a configuration file (config) can be found. Editing the config in the notepad or any other text editing tool provides the VCS location of the managed project.
Once the location is noted, you can use third party software, such as TortoiseGIT, to obtain a local copy of the project from that destination. However, the end result is exactly the same as opening a managed project in Altium Designer, which is a direct feature that is more efficient and user friendly.
