Summary

Design rules can be exported to the Rules Editor. This allows you to save favorite rule definitions between different designs. This command is used to save a PCB Rule File (*.rul).

Access

This command can be accessed from the Rules Editor by:

Choosing File » Export From File from the main menus.
Right-clicking on a rule and selecting Export From File from the menu.

Use

After launching the command, the Export File dialog will open, where you may determine the desired name of the PCB Rule File (*.rul) and the location in which you'd prefer it stored. After clicking Save, the Choose Design Rule Type dialog will open, which allows you to choose which design rule(s) to export.
