Send Selected Polygon to Back

Summary

When two polygons overlap, the software needs to know which one should occupy the shared area where they overlap. This is done by defining the pour order, with the higher-order polygon having precedence and pouring over the shared area. This command allows you to interactively configure the pour order of overlapping polygons. It is used to change the pour order so that the selected polygon is behind all other overlapping polygons (and therefore has the lowest precedence).

Access

This command is accessed from the PCB Editor by right-clicking over a selected polygon pour and choosing the Polygon Actions » Send to back command from the context menu.

Use

After launching the command, the selected polygon pour will be moved to the bottom of the pour order. As it now has the lowest precedence, it will not pour over the shared (overlapping) area between the other applicable polygons. This will be seen visually in the workspace once the pour, which is now classed as modified, is repoured.

Tips

Pour order for polygon pours can also be managed in the Polygon Pour Manager dialog.
