UpdateComponentsFromLibraryEditor

Summary

This command is used to apply changes made to a component in a source schematic library to all instances of the placed component in all open schematic documents.

Access

This command is accessed from the Schematic Library Editor by choosing the Tools » Update Schematics command from the main menus.

Use

First, ensure that the component to which you have made changes and that you want to update in the source schematic documents is the active component in the Schematic Library Editor. Also ensure that only those schematic sheets on which you want to update the component are open.

After launching the command, the update will proceed and an information dialog will appear stating how many components were updated and on how many schematic documents.

Tips

1. The update will affect instances of the placed component in all open schematic documents regardless to which project they belong.
