Parent page: PinSwapper Commands
The following pre-packaged resource, derived from this base command, is available:
Applied Parameters: None
This command is used to interactively perform part-swapping (between sub-parts of a component) within the design workspace. A part is swappable with another part when both parts belong to the same Part Group. It is common for a component to consist of multiple functionally equivalent subparts. Part swapping allows the nets of such equivalent sub-parts to be swapped.
This command is accessed from the PCB Editor by choosing the Tools » Pin/Part Swapping » Interactive Part Swapping command from the main menus.
After launching the command, everything in the PCB workspace is masked (faded), except those parts that are swappable. Keep an eye on the Status Bar, it will prompt you for the next action, to choose the first sub-part to swap. After clicking on any pin in the swappable sub-part, you will be prompted to choose a different sub-part from ABC, where ABC is the designator of the component you are swapping parts in. Click on a pin in the target sub-part to complete the swap action.
Pins will be swapped between the source and target sub-parts in accordance with the defined Part Sequence settings, if no part sequence is defined they will be allocated in a random fashion.
