What Does "Local Edits Only" Mean?

When opening a shared project in Altium Designer, you may see the status Local Edits Only next to the project name. This indicates that any changes you make will remain local and will not be saved to the server.

Why Does This Status Appear?

• Project that was shared with you has the permissions changed from Read/Write to Read Only
• The option Viewers can download the project allows you to open the project but prevents saving changes to the server.
• If download rights are disabled, you cannot open the project in Altium Designer.
• Expired workspace licenses automatically switch projects to view-only mode.

How Can You Fix It?

To remove the Local Edits Only status:

• Contact the workspace administrator, project owner, or a user with edit rights.
• Request that the project be shared with you using Edit Rights.
• Verify that your workspace subscription is active.
