Summary

The Set Up Part Providers dialog is used to refine the supplier list for the specific PCB project for the current ActiveBOM. ActiveBOM's default behavior is to select suppliers for chosen manufacturer parts based on item availability and price from those suppliers enabled in this dialog.

The list of suppliers available in this dialog is configured on the Data Management - Parts Provider page of the Preferences dialog.

Access

The dialog is accessed by clicking the button associated with the Favorite Suppliers List in the Supply Chain region of the ActiveBOM Properties panel (on the General tab).

Options/Controls

  • Supplier Name - lists suppliers available in this installation of Altium NEXUS. The list is configured in the Data Management - Parts Provider page of the Preferences dialog. Use the checkboxes in the dialog to refine this list, defining the list of suppliers that are available in this project.
  • Supplier Priority - the priority defines the order that suppliers are checked when the Use supplier priority checkbox is enabled. Use the drop-down to change the priority of a supplier. The entry changed will swap places with the entry that is chosen.
  • Use supplier priority - enable this option to change the default search priority from: availability, then price, to: supplier, then availability, then price. To switch to a Supplier priority mode over the default availability/price priority, enable the Use supplier priority checkbox.
  • Preferences - click the  to open the Data Management - Parts Provider page of the Preferences dialog

When the Use supplier priority option is enabled, only solutions available from the enabled suppliers are listed. The exception to this are user-defined manual solutions, which are always shown.
