2 Layer PCB
Remember the old days of printed circuit board (PCB) development? The board was an insulated core layer, clad with a thin layer of copper on one or both sides. Flash to the future of today, and almost all PCB designs have not only 2 Layer PCB, but multiple copper layers. Two to ten copper layers are now common, with the possibility of going over 30 copper layers. These multiple layers are called the layer stack.
Altium Designer software includes all of the layers used in the overall PCB design. A single set of layers are identified and any layer can be used in any layer stack. Regardless of whether the design is a single PCB, or a rigid-flex design including multiple rigid and flex sections, Altium can fabricate the layers into a layer stack.
With Altrium’s Designer software, designers can:
Identify the overall shape of the rigid-flex PCB
Define a master set of layers
Specify multiple layer stacks
Generate detailed output fabrication and documentation files
