28 Pin Connector
The 28 pin connector component that you buy and solder onto the board is the real component, but that component has to be modeled in each of the electronic design domains that you want to use it in. The Unified Component Model employed by Altium Designer 18 means each 28 pin component has the symbols, variants, footprints, 3D mechanical and simulation models needed.
Altium Designer provides the ability to place components directly from a company database, by creating and using a Database Library or components can be found from more than 200,000 parts available from the Altium Content Vault.
Depending on what type of design implementations you plan to perform, your component could include:
A symbol for the schematic
A simulation model for the circuit simulator
An IBIS model for signal integrity analysis
A pattern or footprint for PCB layout
A 3D model for visualization, 3D clearance checking, and export to the mechanical CAD domain
Altium Designer 18 allows you to manage your component libraries so they are always up-to-date and provide clear insight into part availability and visibility. Request your free trial today!
