Capacitance Multiplier PCB
A capacitance multiplier in a printed circuit board is designed to make a capacitor function like a capacitor that is much larger. This is achieved in at least two ways: an active circuit, using a device such as a transistor or operational amplifier; and a passive circuit, using autotransformers. These are typically used for calibration standards.
Altium Designer 18 empowers engineers/designers with the help they need to accurately use capacitance multipliers in printed circuit board high-speed designs. In partnership with ICD analysis software, Altium is able to provide a centralized, shared, impedance planning atmosphere that successfully connects materials, PDN analysis, stackup planning, design, signal integrity, and fabrication.
