Standard PCB Drill Sizes
Whether you're using standard PCB drill sizes or a unique size, it’s not uncommon for a PCB to have more than 10,000 drill hits of varying sizes, so there is no room for error with your PCB design. Altium Designer ensures your PCB designs are built right the first time by including all necessary information in a reliable file format.
Altium Designer can export a wide range of PCB design fabrication and assembly file formats, including the widely used Gerber X2 format. When you generate your Gerber X2 File from the Altium PCB Editor, it will specify the hole drilling dimensions that you have selected in your design, like the size of the holes, type of hole, and final treatment.
The following Available Layers will be automatically selected, or you can add more layers to the export if needed:
All copper layers
Drill (may be optional for quick turn PCB services using standard drill sizes)
Drill Symbols (may be optional for quick turn PCB services using standard drill sizes)
Silkscreen Top and Silkscreen Bottom
Solder Mask Bottom and Solder Mask Top
Altium Designer provides you with everything you need to design and produce high-quality printed circuit boards. Request a free trial today to view specific PCB assembly information, like standard drill sizes, in more detail.
