Applied Parameters: None
Summary
This command is used to convert a selected Extruded/Cylindrical/Spherical 3D Body object to a STEP model. Use this feature when the design includes an Extruded 3D Body object that needs to be rotated. The STEP model is automatically embedded in the design file.
For more information on 3D Body Objects, refer to the
3D Body page.
Access
This command is accessed from the PCB Editor by choosing the Convert To STEP command from the right-click context menu.
Use
First, ensure that the Extruded/Cylindrical/Spherical 3D Body that you wish to convert is selected within the design workspace. Right-click on the object and select the Convert To STEP command from the context menu.
After launching the command, the selected primitive will be converted to an embedded STEP object. This change of state will be reflected in the Properties panel.
Tips
- Edited a converted object’s properties, as required, through the Properties panel (when the object is selected).
- Only a single selected object can be converted. If there are multiple objects selected in the workspace (or no objects selected), the command will not appear in the context menu.
