Summary
This command is used to toggle the state of the Locked property for the object under the cursor. The following objects are supported by this command (i.e. have a Locked property): 3D Body, Arc, Component, Coordinate, Dimension (all types), Pad, Polygon Pour, Region, String, Track, Via.
Access
This command is accessed from the PCB Editor by right-clicking over a placed (and supported) object then choosing the <ItemType> Locked command from the context menu.
Use
After launching the command, the object under the cursor will either have its Locked property enabled or disabled depending on its prior state.
Tips
- If attempting to graphically modify an object that has its Locked property enabled, a dialog will appear asking for confirmation to proceed with the edit. If the Protect Locked Objects option is enabled on the PCB Editor – General page of the Preferences dialog and the Locked option for that design object is enabled as well, that object cannot be selected or graphically edited. Double-click on the locked object directly and disable the Locked property (through the Properties panel) or run this command again to toggle the Locked property off. Alternatively, disable the Protect Locked Objects option to graphically edit the object.
- When the object under the cursor is already locked, the command entry on the menu will display a tick icon to the left.
