For a high-level look at how the Altium Draftsman Drawing System provides an interactive approach to the creation of production documentation for your PCBs, see
Draftsman. For detailed information about the custom table object type, see
Table.
Access
This command is accessed from the PcbDrawing Editor by right-clicking within a placed table and choosing the Table » Merge Cells command from the context menu.
The command will only become available for use provided two or more consecutive cells are currently selected within the table.
Use
First, ensure that the consecutive cells that you wish to merge are selected in the table. Do this using the Shift+click or click&drag multi-cell selection methods. Selected cells will appear highlighted.
After launching the command, the individual cells that were selected will become one single, merged cell.
If the cells in the selection have text within them, after the merge, only the text in the left-most/top-most cell (as applicable) will remain in the merged cell.
Tips
- Defaults for this primitive type can be defined on the Draftsman - Defaults page of the Preferences dialog.
- To unmerge a merged cell, simply click within the cell then right-click, and choose the Table » Unmerge Cell command from the context menu.
