The following pre-packaged resources, derived from this base command, are available:
Set Grid Size
Applied Parameters: None
Summary
This command is used to set the X (horizontal) and Y (vertical) step values simultaneously to a chosen value for a Draftsman document (*.PCBDwf). These values together define the Snap Grid for manual movement and placement in the current Draftsman document. The cursor automatically snaps to this grid, positioning the reference point of the object being placed onto the nearest grid location.
Access
The command can be accessed from a Draftsman document in the following ways:
- Click View » Set Grid Size from the main menus.
- Use the G keyboard shortcut.
Use
After launching the command, the Snap Grid (1..1000) dialog opens. Enter a single value to be used for both the Step X and Step Y properties then click OK. The grid will update accordingly in the workspace.
Tips
- If you enter a snap grid setting without specifying units, the entry will be in the default measurement units employed for the design. Specifying units when entering the value (mil or mm) will change the default measurement units for the document to those specified if not currently the default.
- The step values can be changed as required for the default snap grid by editing the Grid Size in the General section on the General tab of the Properties panel in Document Options mode (when no objects are currently selected in the design workspace).
