The following pre-packaged resource, derived from this base command, is available:
Make Schematic Library
Applied Parameters: None
Summary
This command is used to create a schematic source library of all the components that have been placed in the source schematic documents of the active project. This is very useful if you want to create an exact working library, or archive, of your finished design.
Access
This command is accessed from the Schematic Editor by choosing the Design » Make Schematic Library command, from the main menus.
Use
After launching the command, all schematic source documents for the active project will be opened, if not already, and a library document (<ProjectName>.SchLib) will be automatically created and added to the project. The document will open as the active document in the Schematic Library Editor. The library will contain all components used in the design.
Tips
- If the software detects duplicated components - components in the design that have the same library reference, but different internal structure - the Duplicated Components dialog will appear. Use this to determine how to handle such components, either processing the first component and ignoring the rest, processing all components and ensuring they are given unique names, or simply aborting generation of the library altogether.
- The created file will appear in the Projects panel as part of the project, under the Libraries\Schematic Library Documents sub-folder. The file is initially not saved to the hard disk.
