The Convert Schematic Sheet to Device Sheet dialog.

SUMMARY

This dialog allows designer to convert schematic sheet to device sheet.

ACCESS

In the SCH Editor, run command Edit » Refactor » Convert Selected Schematic Sheet to Device Sheet or right click a sheet symbol and select Refactor » Convert Selected Schematic Sheet to Device Sheet.

OPTIONS/CONTROLS

Target Device Sheet Location - A Device Sheets folder is automatically created within the project folder. By default, Device Sheets are saved to this  Device Sheets folder. Click on the  button at the end of this field to open the Choose Device Sheet Folder dialog and select a different target location for the new device sheet.

Note that the last target location (not including the file name) is remembered in this dialog. If you change the path from the default, the new path is remembered the next time you invoke the dialog.
As well as managing the Device Sheet folders through the Choose Device Sheet Folder dialog (and the subsequent Device Sheet Folders dialog which can be opened from there), designers can manage Device Sheet Folder locations directly from the Data Management - Device Sheets page of the Preferences dialog.

Mode

  • Convert Schematic Sheet and update all relevant sheet symbols in the current project - Choose this option to convert the currently selected sheet symbol to a device sheet symbol and create a new Device Sheet in the target location. All the relevant sheet symbols in the current project are updated. This option is enabled by default.
  • Convert Schematic Sheet and update all relevant sheet symbols in the current workspace - Choose this option to convert the currently selected sheet symbol to a device sheet symbol and create a new Device Sheet in the target location. All the relevant sheet symbols in the current workspace are updated.
  • Create device sheet from schematic sheet and update ony the current sheet symbol - Choose this option to convert the currently selected sheet symbol to a device sheet symbol and create a new Device Sheet in the target location. The current sheet symbol is updated only. This option is disabled by default.

Additional Options

  • Compile projects(s) after conversion - Enable this option to compile after conversion. If you have converted sheets in your workspace, all projects in the current workspace will be compiled. This option is disabled by default.
Your last selection for this compile option is remembered. If you change the Compile setting from the default, the new Compile setting is remembered the next time you invoke the dialog.
