The following pre-packaged resource, derived from this base command, is available:
Clear Cell Content
Applied Parameters: None
Summary
This command is used to clear the content of one or more selected (and editable) cells, in the component definitions region of the active Component Library document.
Access
This command can be accessed from the Component Library Editor by:
- Selecting one or more editable cells, in the definitions region, and choosing the Edit » Clear Contents command from the main menus.
- Right-clicking over an editable cell (or a cell in a selection of editable cells), in the definitions region, and choosing the Clear Contents command from the context menu.
- Selecting one or more editable cells, in the definitions region, and using the Delete keyboard shortcut.
Use
After launching the command, the current contents of the selected cell(s) will be cleared, leaving the cell(s) empty.
Tips
- If the Component Library document references a Component Template, bear in mind the following:
- If a parameter is marked as Read Only in the template, then although you can clear the content of the applicable cell for that parameter, you will not be able to enter a new value (by virtue of it being read only). Using the Refresh command will restore the default value from the template.
- If a parameter is marked as Required in the template, clearing the content of the applicable cell for that parameter will cause the cell to be highlighted with a red border - alerting you to the fact that a value is required. Again, if any default value has been defined for the parameter in the template, using the Refresh command will restore that value.
