Item Creation or Release Fails

When you save or release an item to a Workspace, the operation fails with the error: Create item failed ... Access not granted.

Required Workspace Permissions Are Missing

This error occurs when you do not have permission to perform the required item operation or create content in the destination folder. Global operation permissions and folder sharing permissions are separate controls, and both must allow the action. Folder access may also be inherited from a parent folder.

Verify Operation and Folder Permissions

• Confirm that your account or assigned role has the required global operation permission for the item.
• Confirm that you have write or edit access to the destination folder.
• Review permissions inherited from parent folders if the access settings on the destination folder appear correct.

Review and Update Access Settings

1. Ask your Workspace administrator to verify the global operation permissions for the item you are trying to release.

   

2. In Altium Designer, open Panels » Explorer.
3. Under Managed Content, locate the destination folder.
4. Right-click the folder and select Properties » Share.
5. Verify that your user account or assigned role has write or edit permission, then adjust the permission if required.
6. If the required permission is inherited, review the sharing settings on the parent folder.

   

Additional Notes

Workspace administrators can assign access directly to individual users or through applicable groups and roles. Administrator access may be required to review or change these permissions.
