KB: "Found Incorrect Link(s) Between Project Variant and Schematic Component" After PCB Reannotation
Updated: 九月 03, 2026
After PCB positional reannotation and synchronization back to the schematic, projects containing design variants may display the warning message "Found incorrect link(s) between project variant and schematic component". In some cases, the warning can be cleared by refreshing the variant information through the variants interface. If the warning persists, review and reconfirm the affected variant component assignments before continuing with other troubleshooting steps.

Solution Details
Warning Appears After Designator Changes
Projects that contain design variants may report the warning message "Found incorrect link(s) between project variant and schematic component" after component designator changes are made in the PCB editor and synchronized back to the schematic.
Variant Associations May Need Refreshing
After PCB-side designator changes are transferred to the schematic, variant component associations may require refreshing before the warning is cleared.
Refresh Variant Information First
- Open the variants interface and allow it to load completely.
- Close the variants interface and check whether the warning persists.
- If the warning remains, review the affected variant components and reconfirm any alternate component assignments.
Refresh Variant Component Associations
- Open Project » Variants.
- Allow the variants interface to load completely.
- Close the variants interface.
- Reopen Project » Variants and verify whether the warning still appears.
- If the warning remains, review the affected variant components.
- Reconfirm any alternate component assignments that appear affected.
- Save the project and verify the warning is no longer reported.
