Different Project Names Shown Across Views
The managed project appears with an incorrect or generic name in the Explorer panel under Server Folders. However, the correct project name is visible in other locations, including the Projects panel and the web viewer. This inconsistency can make it difficult to identify the correct project when browsing server folders.
Server Folder Metadata Becomes Out of Sync
Under certain circumstances, the server-side folder metadata may fail to refresh after project creation or renaming, causing the folder name displayed in the Explorer panel to become out of sync with the project metadata. As a result, the Explorer panel may continue to display an outdated or default folder name even though the project metadata is correct elsewhere.
Use the Supported Rename Workflow
- Use the built-in Rename command in Altium Designer to trigger a metadata refresh.
- Rename the project to a temporary name and save it to the server.
- Rename the project back to the intended name and save it again to resynchronize the project and associated server folder.
Rename the Project to Refresh Metadata
- Open the project in Altium Designer.
- In the Projects panel, right-click the project.
- Select Rename.
- Rename the project to a temporary name that differs from the original name.
- Save the project to the server.
- Right-click the project again and select Rename.
- Rename the project back to the correct intended name.
- Save the project to the server.
- Refresh or revisit the Explorer panel and verify that the Server Folder name now matches the project name.

This issue applies to managed/server projects. No direct server-side parameter editing is required to correct the issue. The recommended workaround uses the supported project rename functionality within Altium Designer to force metadata synchronization.
