Self service Upgrade Develop

Providing you meet a set of eligibility criteria, a Group Administrator for your organization's Altium Account can upgrade it, by themselves, to the Altium Develop platform solution subscription model.

You are eligible to perform a self-service upgrade if all of the following criteria apply:

  • You are currently on Altium Designer Standard Subscription.

  • There are up to 50 members in your Workspace.

  • There are up to 5 seats across your Altium Designer licenses (on active Subscription).

  • You do not have Altium Designer extension licenses.

If your organization is not eligible for self-service upgrade to the Altium Develop platform solution, or upgrade to an edition of the Altium Agile platform solution is required, contact Altium to discuss your available options.

During the upgrade process:

  • Your existing Workspace will become an Altium Develop Workspace. All existing Workspace data (projects, components, etc.) and users will stay in the Workspace.

  • Your existing Altium Designer licenses will be deactivated, and license assignments will be discontinued.

  • A corresponding number of Author Seats will be added to the Altium Develop Workspace.

The upgrade process can be initiated right from within the browser interface of your existing Workspace or via this direct link.

Click the Explore Benefits link in the banner at the top of any page of your existing Workspace's browser interface.

The Upgrade Benefits page that summarizes transition to Altium Develop will open. Click the  button to proceed.

On the Transition Configuration Overview page that opens, the Licenses region will list your Existing Licenses (on the left) and summarize how they will be translated into Altium Designer Authors under Develop Workspace (on the right). Click the  button to proceed.

The Data region of the page will be updated with a tile of the Workspace to be migrated. Click the  button to proceed.

The Users region of the page is updated with a list of users who currently exist as part of your organization, but who are not members of its Workspace. For each such user, you can choose either to invite them to the Workspace (User) or not (Do not invite). If there are users who are Group Administrators of your organization's Altium account but not administrators of the Workspace, they will be listed too, with the ability to invite them as Workspace administrators. Click the  button to proceed.

Read Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and EULA (End-User License Agreement) using links in the Terms and Conditions region of the page. Enable checkboxes and click the  button to proceed with the upgrade.

When the upgrade process is complete, a summary report will be presented and you can now use your Altium Develop Workspace!

You can also upgrade to the Altium Develop platform solution if there is no Workspace created/associated to your organization's Altium account. In this case, launch the process using this link. As part of the upgrade process (on the Data stage), a new Altium Develop Workspace will be created (). Here, you can enter the name you wish to call your Workspace, choose a location from the drop-down to which you and your team are closest, and choose whether or not you want sample data created in your Workspace.
