Parent page: Schematic Commands

The following pre-packaged resource, derived from this base command, is available:

Applied Parameters: None

Summary

This command is used to update the schematic sheet(s) associated with a specific template that may have had its information changed in some way (e.g., a company logo may have changed). A template is a graphical entity that holds user-defined sheet size, border, and title block descriptions.

Access

This command is accessed from the Schematic Editor by choosing Design » Templates »  Update Current Template from the main menus.

Use

After launching the command, the Update Template dialog will appear. Use this dialog to determine for which documents the template will be updated - either the current document only, all schematic documents in the current (active) project, or all open schematic documents (regardless to which project they belong). You also have control over what happens to parametric information.

After clicking OK, the schematic sheets falling under the defined scope will be updated with the changes from the associated template.

Tips

  1. If the template file that the schematic sheet(s) is associated to is not available (perhaps because it has been deleted), using this command will have no effect, and an information dialog will alert you to the fact that the template could not be found.
  2. The active schematic document can also be updated with information from the currently referenced template, from within the Properties panel. In the Page Options section, and with the Formatting and Size mode set to Template, simply click the  button, to the left of the Template field.
