This command is used to delete a single character to the left of the cursor in the current document. If one or more characters in the document are selected, then the command will delete the selection.
Access to this command is made using the Backspace keyboard shortcut only.
Simply position the text cursor at the required location in the document, to the right of the character to be deleted. After launching the command, the character to the left of this position will be removed. Using the command repeatedly will delete subsequent characters to the left of the original position.
If you have any text selected in the document, then launching the command will remove that selection.
The deleted character(s) or selection can be restored using the Undo command.
