The following pre-packaged resource, derived from this base command, is available:

This command is used to insert a new line at the current cursor position, within the current document.


Access to this command is made using the Ctrl+N keyboard shortcut only.


Simply position the cursor where you wish the new line to be inserted and launch the command. What happens next depends on where the cursor was originally positioned:

  • If the cursor is at the beginning of a line, a new blank line will be inserted above.
  • If the cursor is at the end of a line, a new blank line will be inserted below.
  • If the cursor is in the middle of text, the text after the cursor will be moved down to a new line below.
