Parent page: VersionControl Commands

The following pre-packaged resource, derived from this base command, is available:

Applied Parameters: None

Summary

This command is used to open the selected version (either local historical version or VCS revision) of the document currently selected in the Project Files region of the Storage Manager panel in the main design window.

Access

This command can be accessed from the Local History region of the Storage Manager panel when presented in its Classic View with a version of the document selected (Version n) by:

  • Right-clicking and choosing the Open command from the context menu.
  • Using the Enter keyboard shortcut.

This command can be accessed from the Time line region of the Storage Manager panel nwhen presented in its Combined View with a version/revision of the document selected by:

  • Right-clicking and choosing the Open command from the context menu.
  • Using the Enter keyboard shortcut.
The command will not be available if more than one version/revision of the document is selected.
If the panel is currently configured in Combined View (showing a timeline for the history of activity for the selected document in the Project Files region), right-click anywhere in the region and choose the Switch to Classic View command from the context menu. You will then be able to see and access the Local History region.

Use

Ensure the document whose versions/revisions you want to view is selected in the Project Files region of the Storage Manager panel. Then:

  • In Classic View in the Local History region of the panel, select the version you want to open. After launching the command, the selected version will be opened in the main design window. The name of the opened document will be suffixed with the version number, for example, Buzzer~(1).SchDoc.
  • In Combined View in the Time line region of the panel, select the version/revision you want to open. After launching the command, the selected version/revision will be opened in the main design window. If opening a version (local history-based), the name of the opened document will be suffixed with the version number, for example, Buzzer~(1).SchDoc. If opening a revision (VCS-based), the name of the opened document will be prefixed with the revision number, for example, [Revision 7] Buzzer.SchDoc.

Tips

  1. Double-clicking on a version/revision in a list will also open that version/revision within Altium NEXUS.
