The Print dialog
The Print dialog

Summary

The Print dialog provides controls to configure the printout of a Draftsman document, including a scalable print preview image with page navigation selectors, as well as standard printing options.

Access

To access the Print (Draftsman) dialog, the UI.Unification.PrintPreviewDialog option in the Advanced Settings dialog must be disabled. The Advanced Settings dialog is accessed by clicking the Advanced button on the System – General page of the Preferences dialog. If any changes are made in the Advanced Settings dialog, the software must be restarted in order for the changes to take effect.

When the UI.Unification.PrintPreviewDialog option is enabled, the Print dialog is used for defining what is printed and which printing device to use, viewing printouts, and editing their setup definitions before actually printing.

The dialog can be accessed from a Draftsman document in the following ways:

  • From the main menu, select File » Print.
  • Use the Ctrl+P hotkeys.
  • From the toolbar, click the  button.

Options/Controls

The left-hand side of the dialog features a scalable print preview image. Drag the edges of the preview image to make it larger or smaller. If the Draftsman document to be printed contains multiple pages, the arrow buttons below the preview image allow you to navigate through the various pages and view them in the preview area.

Standard Printing options are available on the right-hand side of the dialog. These include the ability to designate a specific printer, confirm the printer's location, view how many documents are currently in the printing queue, adjust the number of copies to print, page sizing, and orientation options.
