Summary

The Schematic – Grids page of the Preferences dialog provides the settings for the grid configuration in the schematic editor.

Access

The Schematic – Grids page is part of the main Preferences dialog (File |

) and is accessed by clicking the Grids entry under the Schematic folder in the left hand pane of the dialog.

Options/Controls

Grid Options

• Visible Grid - Select an option from the drop-down to set the style of the visible grid for schematic documents. The following options are available:
  • Line Grid - The grid is shown as solid lines.
  • Dot Grid - The grid is shown as dotted lines.
• Grid Color - This field shows the current color used to draw the visible grid on schematic sheets. Click the color box to change the visible grid color.

Imperial Grid Presets

This table contains lists of imperial values (in mils) for the Snap Grid, Electrical Grid and Visible Grid for the schematic project. The grid values can be modified or the checkboxes used to toggle the visibility of each grid.

• Altium Presets - Click this button to restore grid presets for the Snap Grid, Electrical Grid and Visible Grid in mil units. The button opens a list of selectable grid presets.

Metric Grid Presets

This grid settings table contains lists of metric values (in mm) for the Snap Grid, Electrical Grid and Visible Grid for the schematic project. The grid values can be modified or the checkboxes used to toggle the visibility of each grid.
