Altium Vault - Historical Release Notes

This documentation page references Altium Vault, which has been discontinued. All your PCB design, data management and collaboration needs can now be delivered by Altium Designer and a connected Altium 365 Workspace.

The following collapsible sections list the release notes for publically released versions of the indicated historical version of Altium Vault.

11542	Improved validation for the required rights when installing to the Oracle (create view right).

11986	Fixed bug in which IDS Service became broken after more than 2000 users were synchronized.
12086	Fixed an issue where License Manager did not work if Vault was licensed during installation via old *.alf files in Program Files/Altium Vault...
12087	Fixed bug with ghost sessions in WEB UI after Vault update.
12221	Fixed bug when it was not possible to change a type of the authentication from Windows to Built In.
11542	Fixed bug with an excessive amount of rights required for installing or updating Oracle version.
11845	Fixed bug with a randomly occurring error during massive acquisitions of the extensions via NIS.
11991	Fixed unexpected behavior with duplicated System session right after the update.

8555	Placement of footprints from Vault Explorer to PCB is available now.

8421	The Altium Vault's Team Configuration Center (TC2) now supports the creation of more than 15 user Roles.
8791	Resolved an issue where component visibility was lost when the Vault database is reindexed after a software update.
8854	A Component CAL license no longer creates an error when used with a Workgroup or Enterprise Vault installation.
9082	Resolved an issue where changing the state of a large number of Vault components (more than 50) with a Batch operation would cause an SQL error.
9174	The Vault's 'Remind' action for pending approval requests now works correctly with OS versions older than Windows 8.
9400	Revision Naming Schemes and Lifecycle Definitions can now be successfully modified for an Altium Vault based on the Oracle database.
9477	The Altium Vault Backup tool now correctly detects different Firebird architectures by identifying the active process name.
9509	An Altium Vault folder that has a high number of elements no longer causes a 'Too many values' SQL error, and will accept further additions.
9585	The Vault Explorer now correctly shows Supplier Chain information for components sourced from an Altium Vault that is using an Oracle database.

Version 2.5.12

6423	Resolved an issue with BASE_WaveSim package that caused installation of Altium Designer from NIS package to fail.
6696	Resolved an issue whereby addition of a new user or role to an Altium Vault, via the vault's browser interface, was impossible if authorizations and password files - in the VaultServerData/Repository folder - were empty.
6775	Fixed a bug whereby an approval request was not passing to a second approval group, if the approver in the first group was also part of a custom role.
7149	Pushing a project to the Collaboration Server using the Solidworks Collaboration panel in Altium Designer, no longer causes an error with Status Code 500.
7235	Altium Vault 2.5 is now compatible with the Oracle 12 database.
7269	The NIS UI can now work correctly on isolated networks, without access to the internet
7305	The packages folder created through the Network Installation Service is now correctly set to be a system folder. When opting to hide system folders, the packages folder will now correctly be hidden from view in the vault folder structure.
7428	LDAP Synchronization no longer tries to create a user, if a user with the same name has already been manually created.
7451	It is now possible to save local credentials, for an Altium Vault installed on an isolated network (with no internet access).
7645	Resolved an issue with Altium Vault licensing, whereby existing features were marked as unavailable after license activation.
7678	The Altium Vault no longer causes an error while loading the IDX file when a design is pulled from Collaboration server to SOLIDWORKS.
8027	Resolved an issue with BackupTool that caused Vault installation to fail.
8053	Resolved an issue whereby the Turkish character set (UTF-8) was causing "500 Internal Server Error".

Version 2.5.11

Build: 47216 Date: 23 July 2015

6842	The WebDav service installed as part of the Altium Vault installation, no longer affects MCAD Collaboration.
6904	Resolved an issue with Altium Vault 2.5 where a vault-downloaded update of Altium Designer was not visible from within Altium Designer.
6959	Resolved an issue with User Management where Users could not be seen by the web interface if there was a large number of Users defined.
7023	Resolved an issue where component footprints could not be found in an Oracle version of the Altium Vault after running the Update PCB command.

Version 2.5.10

Build: 45793 Date: 25 June 2015

6668	The Altium Vault can now be correctly updated from version 2.1 to 2.5, when using Oracle as the back-end database.
6711	An issue whereby sending of email notifications from the Altium Vault would cease after more than 6 minutes of domain inactivity, has been resolved.

4565	New view in VaultExplorer shows component parameter data in columns, similar to Search and Library Panel (BC:4985).
4667	3D models can now be managed by Altium Vault and reused as 3D Bodies in designs and footprints (BC:5066).
4570	Particular lifecycle transitions can now be either limited to a specific group or require an approval process.
5300	Fully functional templates can now be defined on a Vault level to control and define component structure including the list of parameters, default values, and required parameters.
5035	LDAP synchronization has been completely reworked and now supports non-Windows LDAP servers, attribute mapping and all LDAP queries.
4752	Event stream, email notification and change subscription (for project and component) functionality has been added to the Altium Vault web UI.
5025	Lifecycle Definition and Naming Schema can now be limited for usage with specific content types.
5271	Clone action are now supported in VaultExplorer and cmplib for component related content types.
4442	Altium Designer now suggests to update related components during footprint/symbol release.
4568	The ability to perform different operations (lifecycle transition, item deletion, etc) can now be granted in a more flexible way without limiting them only to administrators.
