Altium NEXUS Server 2.0

Released: 10 June 2020 - Version: 2.0.4 (build 71)
Released: 19 December 2018 - Version: 2.0.2 (build 62)

This release sees further beneficial enhancements to the Altium NEXUS Server and its related technologies. In addition, numerous fixes have been made to resolve issues raised by customers through the AltiumLive Community.

While the Altium NEXUS Server 2.0 installer includes automated backup of your existing Server, it is always a good idea to make a pre-update backup of your data yourself – taking a redundancy copy off to one side as it were. This provides additional safety, should any unforeseen technical difficulties arise. It is advised to test out a new release of the Altium NEXUS Server on a different machine, before updating your production instance. Use of Virtual Machines can be invaluable in this respect.
While connection to Altium NEXUS Server 2.0 is possible from previous versions of Altium NEXUS, users are encouraged to update to the latest version of Altium NEXUS – especially where Server enhancements relate to changes to the user interface within Altium NEXUS (such as the addition of the Components panel).

Project Management improvements

In this release a range of new and enhanced functions are available for working with Managed Projects, such as the ability to preview design content prior to release and find projects based on their included or server-generated parameters.

Web Review improvements

The server’s browser-based Web Review feature is now available at all times during the Project development process, including prior to project Release. A new graphics engine has been introduced to significantly improve the PCB document rendering process, and a freeform drawing markup feature is now available along with the existing object and area highlighting options.

PLM Integration updates

PLM support in the NEXUS Server has been extended and improved with the addition of new PLM configurations, connection validity checks, workflow syncronization and configuration structures that directly support the NEXUS Server’s current data model.
