Teardrop Options

Summary

The Teardrop Options dialog allows designer to add/remove teardrop for selected objects with spefied style.

Access

To access this dialog, select Tools » Legacy Tools » Legacy Teardrops from the toolbar. 

Options/Controls

General

  • Pads - Use this option to add/remove teardrops for Pads.
  • Vias - Use this option to add/remove teardrops for Vias.
  • Tracks - Use this option to add/remove teardrops for Tracks.
  • Selected Objects Only - Enable this option to apply changes to selected objects only.
  • Force Teardrops - Enable this option to apply teardrops to pads and/or vias even if it will result in a DRC violation.
  • Create Report - Enable this option to create a report (DesignName.REP). The report will be stored in the same folder as the PCB document and will automatically be opened as the active document. The report shows how many pads and/or vias were visited and how many instances of failed teardrops with their designator, location, and layer information. The report will also be added to the Projects panel as a free document, under the Text Files sub-folder.

Action

  • Add - Select this option to Add teardrops.
  • Remove -  Select this option to Remove teardrops.

Teardrop Style

  • Arc - Teardrops will be created by Arcs.
  • Track - Teardrops will be created by Tracks.

Tips

Both component pads and free pads will be teardropped.
