The following pre-packaged resource, derived from this base command, is available:

Applied Parameters: None

Summary

This feature facilitates dynamic, bi-directional object cross-selection. It is used to select corresponding components in the project schematic and PCB, as they are selected in the ActiveBOM component grid.

To learn more about cross probing and cross selection, refer to the Cross-Probing and Selecting page.

For a high-level look at working with the ActiveBOM, see BOM Management with ActiveBOM.

Access

This feature is enabled from the ActiveBOM editor in the following ways:

  • Click the Tools » Cross Select Mode command from the main menus. When Cross Select Mode is enabled, the menu icon will highlight.
  • Enable the Cross Selection option in the Cross Select Mode region of the System - Navigation page of the Preferences dialog.
  • Click to select an Item in the component grid of the BomDoc.
  • Use the Shift+Ctrl+X keyboard shortcut.

Use

With this feature enabled, simply click to select one or more Items in the component grid of the BomDoc. Those same objects will become selected on the schematic and PCB documents.

Cross Select Mode display behavior is controlled using the Cross Select Mode controls on the System - Navigation page of the Preferences dialog.

The target document will not be made the active document. It is therefore a good idea to have both source and target documents open side-by-side.

Cross selection from the schematic (or PCB) to the BomDoc is also supported.
