The following pre-packaged resource, derived from this base command, is available:

Applied Parameters: AddLibraryToProject=True

Summary

This command is used to create a PCB library of all the 2D/3D Component models that have been placed in the active PCB document. This is very useful if you want to create an exact working library, or archive, of your finished design.

Access

This command is accessed from the PCB Editor by choosing the Design » Make PCB Library command, from the main menus.

Use

After launching the command, a library document (<PCBDocumentName>.PcbLib) will be automatically created and added to the project. The document will open as the active document in the PCB Library Editor. Each unique component (2D/3D Component model) detected on the PCB will then be added to the library.

Tips

  1. The created file is stored in the same location as the PCB document from which it was created.
  2. The created file will appear in the Projects panel as part of the project, under the Libraries\PCB Library Documents sub-folder.
