Navigating Your Transition to
Term-Based Licensing

Get answers to your most common questions about your perpetual license,
Altium 365 access, and the transition process.
What happens to my existing perpetual license(s)?

Your perpetual licenses will be archived in their current version. You can reactivate them at the end of your term-based agreement using the archived version.

What if I migrate before my renewal date?

Any unused subscription period will be credited back and reflected in your pricing. The new license period will start upon order processing, with your perpetual licenses archived simultaneously.

Will I have access to Altium 365 without a subscription?

No. Continued access to the Altium 365 Workspace is exclusive to active Term-Based license.

How do I get the latest version of Altium Designer if I don’t switch now?

Future software updates and the newest features will only be available through Term-Based licenses. Migrating today ensures you benefit from the most cost-effective rates. Switching later will mean paying the published rates at that time.

What if I have both Perpetual and Term-Based licenses?

Consolidating your licenses under the Term-Based model simplifies management, reduces upfront costs for new users, and ensures you always have access to the latest innovations.

Will there be any downtime during the transition?

No. The migration process is seamless and will not disrupt your workflow.

Can I manage and track my Term-Based licenses?

Yes. You can easily manage and track all Term-Based licenses through the Altium License Manager.

Can I purchase support for my existing perpetual licenses?

Support is included as part of your Term-Based license. For perpetual licenses, support will continue to be available through self-service resources.
