Applied Parameters: None

Summary

This command is used to create a new component footprint within the current PCB Library document, in a semi-automated way, by using the Footprint Wizard.

Access

This command is accessed from the PCB Library Editor by:

  • Choosing the Tools » Footprint Wizard command from the main menus.
  • Right-clicking in the workspace and choosing the Tools » Footprint Wizard command from the context menu.

Use

After launching the command, the Footprint Wizard opens. Follow the Wizard's intuitive pages to set up the particular component footprint as required.

Tips

  1. A new blank component can also be added to the library by using the Create New Blank Component command.
  2. If your components are required to be IPC-compliant, you can use the IPC Compliant Footprint Wizard or IPC Compliant Footprints Batch Generator commands.
