State Transition Validation

Modified by Tiffany Cullen on Jun 26, 2019

The many iterations of the State Transition Validation dialog.

Summary

The State Transition Validation dialog provides details regarding errors detected, distinguishes managed items in states, provides information regarding server location, stage, and provides the status of the Bills of Materials(.BOMDoc).

The name of each dialog will vary depending on the current lifecycle state of the selected managed draft item.

Access

The dialog is accessed in the following ways:

  • In the Lifecycle tab of the Explorer panel, right-click on a managed item that is in a draft, prototype, production, approved, or obsolete revision state, then select the desired state transition validation command from the menu.
  • From the Explorer panel, select a managed item that is in a draft, prototype, production, approved, or obsolete revision state, then right-click, and choose the Full Item History command from the menu. The full item history will appear in a document that displays the revision history of the item, where you may right-click on a draft revision, then select the desired state transition validation command from the menu.
The name of each command will vary depending on the current lifecycle state of the selected managed draft item.
