The following pre-packaged resources, derived from this base command, are available:


Applied Parameters: Action=Add

Summary

This command is used to add an additional graphical representation (mode) for the active component. The addition is called an Alternate.

Access

This command can be accessed from the Schematic Library Editor by:

  • Choosing the Tools » Mode » Add command, from the main menus.
  • Clicking the  button on the Mode toolbar.

Use

First ensure that the component you wish to add the additional graphical representation to, is selected in the Components list of the SCH Library panel (and is therefore the active component in the main design window).

After launching the command, an additional graphical representation (mode) will be added to the component, labeled Alternate N (where N is the next available number in the range 1-255).

A blank sheet will appear in the main design workspace, ready for you to add the graphics for this representation.

Tips

  1. The current graphical representation for the active component is denoted by an enabled 'tick' icon beside its entry in the main menus, or the Mode drop-down list on the Mode toolbar. Note, however, that only the first 20 Alternate graphical modes are listed on the menu and toolbar.


Applied Parameters: Action=Remove

Summary

This command is used to remove the current graphical representation (mode) for the active component. A component can have a default representation - called Normal - and up to 255 additional representations, known as Alternates.

Access

This command can be accessed from the Schematic Library Editor by:

  • Choosing the Tools » Mode » Remove command, from the main menus.
  • Clicking the  button on the Mode toolbar.

Use

First ensure that the component you wish to remove a graphical representation from, is selected in the Components list of the SCH Library panel (and is therefore the active component in the main design window). Change the current graphical representation (mode) for the component to the one you wish to remove.

After launching the command, a dialog will appear asking for confirmation to delete the active display mode from the active component. Click Yes to proceed - the current graphical representation will be removed from the component and the previous representation will appear in the main design window.

Tips

  1. You can remove any of the graphical representations (Normal and Alternate) that exist for a component.
  2. If the component has one or more Alternate representations and you remove the Normal representation, the first Alternate (Alternate 1) will become the Normal representation. All other Alternates will be renumbered accordingly.
  3. If the component has no Alternate representations and you remove the Normal representation, the confirmation dialog will ask for confirmation to remove the component from the library - clicking Yes will effectively delete the component from the library.
  4. The current graphical representation for the active component is denoted by an enabled 'tick' icon beside its entry in the main menus, or the Mode drop-down list on the Mode toolbar. Note, however, that only the first 20 Alternate graphical modes are listed on the menu and toolbar.


Applied Parameters: Action=Mode0

Summary

This command is used to change the graphical representation (mode) of the active component to its Normal mode. This is the primary graphical representation of the component. All components have a Normal mode. Components may, in addition, have anywhere up to 255 Alternate graphical representations (Alternate 1 - Alternate 255).

Access

This command can be accessed from the Schematic Library Editor by:

  • Choosing the Tools » Mode » Normal command, from the main menus.
  • Choosing the Normal entry from the Mode drop-down list, on the Mode toolbar.

Use

First ensure that the component you wish to change the graphical representation for, is selected in the Components list of the SCH Library panel (and is therefore the active component in the main design window).

After launching the command, the graphical representation of the component will be changed to its Normal mode. The associated graphics for this mode will appear in the main design window.

Tips

  1. The current graphical representation for the active component is denoted by an enabled 'tick' icon beside its entry in the main menus, or the Mode drop-down list on the Mode toolbar. Note, however, that only the first 20 Alternate graphical modes are listed on the menu and toolbar.


Applied Parameters: Action=Moden (where n is in the range 1 to 20)

Summary

This command is used to change the graphical representation (mode) of the active component to the indicated Alternate representation. All components have a Normal mode. Components may, in addition, have anywhere up to 255 Alternate graphical representations (Alternate 1 - Alternate 255).

Access

The related indexed commands can be accessed in the Schematic Library Editor from:

  • The Tools » Mode sub-menu.
  • The Mode drop-down list, on the Mode toolbar.
Note, however, that only the first 20 Alternate graphical modes are listed on the menu and toolbar, as there are only 20 indexed commands. To access Alternate modes higher than this, you would need to do so by cycling forward through the modes using the Next command (on the main menu and toolbar).

Use

First ensure that the component you wish to change the graphical representation for, is selected in the Components list of the SCH Library panel (and is therefore the active component in the main design window).

After launching the command, the graphical representation (mode) of the component will be changed to the indicated Alternate. The associated graphics for this mode will appear in the main design window.

  1. The current graphical representation for the active component is denoted by an enabled 'tick' icon beside its entry in the main menus, or the Mode drop-down list on the Mode toolbar.


Applied Parameters: Action=Next

Summary

This command is used to show the next graphical representation (mode) for the active component, where available. All components have a Normal mode. Components may, in addition, have anywhere up to 255 Alternate graphical representations (Alternate 1 - Alternate 255).

Access

This command can be accessed from the Schematic Library Editor by:

  • Choosing the Tools » Mode » Next command, from the main menus.
  • Clicking the  button on the Mode toolbar.
The command will be unavailable when there are no more subsequent Alternate representations to show, or if a component has no Alternate representations to begin with.

Use

First ensure that the component whose graphical representations you wish to browse/change, is selected in the Components list of the SCH Library panel (and is therefore the active component in the main design window).

After launching the command, the next Alternate graphical representation for the component will be displayed in the main design window.

Tips

  1. The current graphical representation for the active component is denoted by an enabled 'tick' icon beside its entry in the main menus, or the Mode drop-down list on the Mode toolbar.


Applied Parameters: Action=Previous

Summary

This command is used to show the previous graphical representation (mode) for the active component, where available. All components have a Normal mode. Components may, in addition, have anywhere up to 255 Alternate graphical representations (Alternate 1 - Alternate 255).

Access

This command can be accessed from the Schematic Library Editor by:

  • Choosing the Tools » Mode » Previous command, from the main menus.
  • Clicking the  button on the Mode toolbar.
The command will be unavailable once the Normal representation becomes the current display.

Use

First ensure that the component whose graphical representations you wish to browse/change, is selected in the Components list of the SCH Library panel (and is therefore the active component in the main design window).

After launching the command, the previous Alternate graphical representation for the component will be displayed in the main design window.

Tips

  1. The current graphical representation for the active component is denoted by an enabled 'tick' icon beside its entry in the main menus, or the Mode drop-down list on the Mode toolbar.
