- What capabilities does Altium Designer Viewer have?
The Altium Designer Viewer lets you interrogate all aspects of a design. For example, opening a PCB document you may zoom, select, view object properties, generate reports and print. You can also view Camtastic® documents, as well as search live supplier databases and view returned results.
You cannot edit the design documents in any way, such as changing the physical layout or object properties. The viewer does not support any translation, editing or saving of files. - What versions of Altium Designer projects/documents can I view?
The latest summer 09 release of Altium Designer Viewer (Build 9.3.0.19153) can view design files created in the summer 09 release of Altium Designer, as well as the winter 09 and summer 08 releases of Altium Designer, Altium Designer 6, Altium Designer 2004 and DXP. Files from Protel 99 SE and earlier products are not supported.

If you do not have existing Altium Account credentials, use the Create Account feature in the My Account region on the Home page to set up your account (View » Home).
- Can I have the Altium Designer Viewer and a full installation of Altium Designer on the same computer?
It is recommended that you do not install the Altium Designer Viewer on a computer that has the full version of Altium Designer on it. By installing both versions, you may experience issues with opening recognized file types.
- I am currently using an old version of Altium Designer Viewer. How do I upgrade to this new version that supports the summer 09 release of Altium Designer?
The new summer 09 release of Altium Designer is an independent installation. If you have a previous version of the Altium Designer Viewer installed, you are not required to remove it, but if you do wish to remove it before the new version is installed, do so by using Add or Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel.
