Welcome to a Envision, a now regularly updated collection of insights, news and views from Altium. Find out what’s new, what’s changing, and what’s over the horizon in the rapidly evolving electronics design industry. The new Envision is an evolution of Altium’s Envision newsletter, which has traditionally been emailed to a large number of subscribers on a quarterly basis. This new approach is a far more immediate process, and allows us to let you know about new and valuable information as soon as it’s available. If you check back regularly you’ll find new contributions from Altium technical writers, engineers and management, plus links to significant technical articles or events that shouldn’t be missed. So if you are not already a subscriber to Envision, take a moment to do so. We can then send you a short email when new and important articles appear. And there’s no shortage of great stuff to talk about. The electronic design industry is rapidly evolving, and Altium is at the forefront of developing new technology and processes to help you easily create innovative and competitive designs. With our developers and engineers bouncing off the walls with ground-breaking developments for Altium’s design solutions, it hard not to get excited. We can’t always tell you about it straight away, but just like Altium’s policy of releasing technology as soon as it’s available, you hear about the technology here as soon as it’s live. Along with the innovation that happens here at Altium, there are also fundamental developments going on in the electronics industry at large. We are now in an era of global manufacture where offshore design development is increasingly common, and this means innovative design IP is the key. Nevertheless, amongst the all the chaff, we’ll keep you abreast of what we feel is really important to today’s design engineers. You may also take issue, or even wholeheartedly agree, with the some of the technical articles, opinions or insights that pop up in Envision. Let us know by emailing us at envision@altium.com – be nice though, as that’s the best way to get your point across. Rob Evans
